What Our Workshops Actually Cover

We don't do theory for theory's sake. Each session brings in banking professionals who've worked with real customers facing real challenges. You'll hear about situations they've encountered—from first-time homebuyers navigating mortgages to business owners managing cash flow.

The format is straightforward. We spend about an hour on core concepts, then open things up for questions. People usually want to know specifics, so we dig into topics like reading bank statements, understanding fees, or comparing account types.

  • Small group sizes mean everyone can ask questions without feeling rushed
  • Real examples from UK banking rather than generic textbook scenarios
  • Handouts you can take home and actually use when making banking decisions
  • Follow-up resources sent after the session for continued learning

We run sessions at The Dock on Queen Street. It's an accessible venue with decent coffee, which matters when you're spending half a day learning about financial services.

People Who've Attended Previous Events

We asked a few past participants about their experience. These are genuine responses from people who sat through our workshops—some found them more useful than others, but most appreciated the practical approach.

Attended October 2024 Session

I'd been with the same bank for years without really understanding what other options existed. The personal finance workshop broke down different account types in a way that actually made sense. Ended up switching to a better savings product as a result.

Attended December 2024 Session

The business banking session helped when I was setting up my small consultancy. I had questions about merchant accounts and business credit that the presenter answered without making me feel like I should already know this stuff. Worth the afternoon.
